Giving Back to Our Community
At Hall & Peck, Julian and Heather are committed to giving back to the community through volunteering and participating in local charities. Heather, is an avid supporter of the State College Area Roller Derby, where she volunteers her time as an announcer. They donate and encourage adoption through the animal shelter Pets Come First and actively volunteer their time. Additionally, we contribute to Hope's Dream Rescue and Sanctuary, and Out of the Cold, a shelter for the homeless. We are proud to make a difference in our local community.

Hope's Dream Rescue
and Sanctuary

What Do We Do?
TNR - With trap-neuter-return (TNR), cats are caught in humane box traps, spayed/neutered and vaccinated, and returned where they were found to live. TNR humanely manages feral and free roaming cats, while preventing the cats from breeding.
Fostering - At Hope's Dream, we do everything that we can to help rescued dogs and cats feel safe and at home. Providing food, warmth, and shelter, we help find them the next forever home!
Adoption - We help animals find their happily ever afters with forever families. Our adoption process is simple but effective in making sure the animals in our care are going to safe, loving homes.
Who We Are:
We are a small but dedicated non-profit animal rescue and sanctuary, run completely by volunteers. Our sanctuary is located in Howard, but we have foster volunteers throughout central Pennsylvania. We offer TNR (trap-neuter-return) help to combat the overwhelming stray population of the area by loaning traps and providing instruction on how to use them. Our volunteers personally do trapping when necessary, such as to help homeowners with medical limitations. We also help with supplies to pet owners who are having a hard time financially, so that they do not need to give up their fur babies. While we have the sanctuary, we have no physical shelter to house animals. Instead of keeping them in cages, our animals are placed with loving foster families while they wait to find their forever homes. The more fosters we have, the more animals we can save. All donations made to us are tax-refundable. We raise money through fundraising efforts and donations. Every dollar we get goes directly to the animals for food, supplies, and vet care. We couldn’t do what we do without all of you and your support!

State College Area Roller Derby
SCAR Derby is a skater-owned and operated flat-track derby league. We are a volunteer organization, including skater athletes, referees and officials. Our membership is comprised of individuals from the Centre Region spanning a wide range of ages and lifestyles. Together, we form a strong community of athleticism, healthy competition and fellowship. In 2015, SCAR Derby proudly became a member of Women's Flat Track Derby Association (WFTDA) and now competes for a national ranking.

Out of the Cold
Out of the Cold is a community supported organization that answers the call to serve those experiencing homelessness in our community by providing shelter, food, and support services during the transition to permanent housing. Out of the Cold: Centre County is a grassroots effort and is a registered 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization.

Pets Come First
Pets Come First is a 501c (3) non-profit, non-euthanasia organization. Our mission is to facilitate the placement of stray and unwanted animals into loving homes. We are dedicated to ensuring responsible shelter management within our community, working together to eliminate the critical overpopulation of homeless, stray and abused animals. Educating our community on the importance of spaying and neutering all animals will decrease the number of surrendered and unwanted animals to area shelters and rescue groups.
